Musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra are among the signatories to an open letter published by the Musicians’ Union, addressed to Chris Bryant MP, Minister of State for Media, Tourism and Creative Industries.

The letter asks the government to act on equitable remuneration for streaming, so that the players who record a track — and who are paid a session fee and nothing after it — share in what that recording earns when it is streamed. Musicians from more than twenty British orchestras signed it.

It is published in full on the Musicians’ Union’s website.
