Beethoven: Symphony No. 9

A double LP of the Ninth, recorded live at Cadogan Hall on 7 May 2024 with the Brighton Festival Chorus — two hundred years to the day since Beethoven conducted the first performance in Vienna.

Cut directly from the master stereo mix of twenty-one microphones, with audiophile cabling throughout and no compression, so the dynamic range of the hall survives onto the record. Separate from the Quartz six-disc cycle of all nine symphonies, which was recorded in the studio.

“I’ve never ever heard it sound like this before, it’s utterly, utterly sublime… It’s the greatest 18 minutes of classical music ever committed to vinyl… I think you might just have made the finest classical record in history!” — Jonathan Gorse, reviewer
